A FUN HOLIDAY IN ROMANIA

Between July and August

Our charity has been giving deprived Romanian children a camping fun holiday in Romania since 1991.

First we had boys from the Boy’e controlling committee still are, the camps are based on Scouting and Guiding, although the Charity is not connected in any way.

We have noticed a tremendous difference in the attitude of the children and the staff working with them.

Six years ago we found a Girl’s Orphanage and took the girls. Members of our team who went the first year say the attitudes of the girls and the staff, were as we first found the boys, and the difference now is remarkable. We do not think this is due entirely to the annual camp but more because of the attitude between our team and the children and the staff, which lets them see that working closer together works and the children are much easier to work with.

We have a campsite in North Eastern Romania, which is run by our sister Romanian charity, “Challenge Camp Romania” and we have hopes for a second camp. This one is in the mountains and is to be an activity camp for older children.

The cost of maintaining these sites and food, transport etc., for these camps is quite considerable so we are asking for people to help by part sponsoring a child for a camping fun holiday in Romania. All members of our charity and the Romanian charity are unpaid volunteers so, of the £6 we are asking, £5 will go to the camp and £1 is to pay for administration, photographs (this covers material costs only) and postage.

In return you will get an official receipt, plus, after the camp the camp leaders report, a photo of the child you have sponsored on the camp.

During the 6 years we have been doing Child Sponsorship, we have raised an estimated £13,500.

This has helped us to give 5,000 camping holidays to Children in the past and continued support will enable us to take on average 400 Children per year in the future. Which we hope, with your help and support to increase.
