CHALLENGE CAMP ROMANIA
Presidents Report 2004
As the president of the charity “Challenge Camp Romania” I would like to say thank you very much to all sponsors and to all the volunteers who joined us in this summer camp.
In my opinion was a good camp despite of the fact that we had two new groups of children, one from a small town named Falticeni and another one from a village called Slatina near Falticeni.
We built a part of the project “Wet Weather Shelter”: a play room which was also used as a dining room, two bedrooms for children in the case of bad weather, rooms for toilets and wash places (still to be equipped) Rooms for serving food and one for washing dishes.
A new generator was installed as the other one had become very unreliable and finally packed up altogether. It is a much larger and quieter one. Therefore we can now have hot water by electric water heaters.
A water filtration system was installed, which work’s very well. Also we put an instant hot water heater in the medical room, we also decorated the medical room for the children. We had a water shortage problem for the toilets and showers, but was solved by the help of the fire department, who filled the storage tank for us.
I think it was a good camp, enjoyed by the children, and the disabled visitors, I am looking forward to the next camp.
Once again I thank you all for your help and support. I hope we will have enough money to continue our projects and finish the building. Also to put up new fences round the sites, so sink another well, to buy the wooden houses for the children so that we can get the authorisation from the Health Department, also to improve the conditions of the road.
At the end of this report I would like to wish Mr David Kennington all the best and tell him we are waiting for him to come back to Romania
